A year ago if you wandered out of the town of Inlet, towards Fifth Lake, you would have passed, but may not have noticed, a small, gray building. Sandwiched between Screamen Eagle and Pedals and Petals, the building was dusty, desolate, and deserted. But now, that building adorns a beautiful, handcrafted sign of an adorable pup (Archie) and a vibrant blue paint job that grabs your attention as you make your way through Inlet. And if you are looking for some homemade Tex-Mex food and a fun atmosphere, make sure you stop in Archie's Alley for a bite to eat and a drink.

Archie's Alley is small but very cozy and has a clever, unique decor including a beautiful ceiling, an incredible mosaic display, and tons of music posters and pictures. Sit at the bar and enjoy a margarita, mixed drink, or beer. There is an outside patio area in the back that overlooks the channel between Fourth and Fifth Lake.

Archie's boasts a good size menu with lots of different options. I will start by including that they have both vegetarian and gluten-free choices on their menu - that already makes them a winner! If you are in the mood for a Taco Salad, I highly recommend theirs. So delicious! For appetizers, check out their nachos and in the summer season, the Elote - Mexican Street Corn! MY FAVORITE! On the unique side, try a "Plant-Based Chorizo Stuffed Sweet Potato".

Next up we have a Taco and Burrito section. With the Tacos, they have traditional Tacos of course, but they also offer some interesting choices including Carnita Tacos, Baja Shrimp Tacos, and their specialty "Alley Tacos" - birria meat, cotija cheese, fresh cilantro in a slightly grilled corn tortilla. With the Burritos, they have the classic Burrito as well as the California and "Sweet Earth" (filled with unique veggies) options. In addition, Archie's offers a Veggie Burrito and a Bean and Cheese Burrito. And don't forget, the classic Quesadilla is a go-to choice.

Sides include house-made tortilla chips, rice, refried beans, black beans, guacamole, house salsa, cilantro jalapeno coleslaw, queso, and roasted zucchini. On any given day, they offer interesting specials such as enchiladas, chimichangas, specialty nachos and salads, chowder, and more! Finally, don't forget your pup - Archie's offers the "Puppy Bowl" - a little bit of delicious rice and chicken for your four-legged bestie.

Archie's is fun and something different to try when you are looking for lunch or dinner. They are constantly working on new menu items and ways to change things up and improve. The portions are good sized and the prices are reasonable. The staff is very friendly and the place is locally owned and operated! Have you tried Archie's? Tell us what you liked!
